The Smart Teaching Assistant

The problem
Teachers often teach solo, without another peer in the room for feedback. Besides the delivery of material, there are other aspects that a teacher can improve upon, such as subconscious favoritism towards certain students, their gaze direction, and the handling of students of different genders, body types, and races. Younger children may not be able to realize or call out when any unfairness occurs, so there's a need for an objective feedback provider.
Solution
A device placed in the classroom will capture and analyze the teacher's actions along with student data. Recommendations will be provided to the teacher to improve any subconsciously biased behaviors.
Considerations
Are teachers and students ready to be 'observed'?
While existing technology has the capability to support this idea, it may not be widely accepted as it requires extensive data collection on various levels, which could easily be perceived as a violation of privacy. This could be trialed on a small scale with teachers and students volunteering with consent.
Your data, your control
Biases are highly personal, even if they are analyzed with good intentions. Teachers should be the owners of their reports and given the option to erase collected data after the reports are generated.
